The Genesis site footer (not to be confused with the footer widgets) usually displays at the very bottom of every page of your website. It usually consists of a copyright notice and/or credits.
By default, the site footer is the final element at the bottom of the page. However, Genesis allows you to add extra content of your choice below the site footer. This could be the footer widget areas, a custom widget area, a menu, a photo or anything else that suits your design.
The hook to use is
Below is the basic code to add a piece of extra content after the site footer. Just replace
your_function_here with the name of the function that outputs your content.
Example 1: add the secondary nav below the site footer.
Example 2: add a breadcrumb trail below the site footer.
This hook fires after the close of the
<footer class="site-footer"> (HTML5) or
<div id="footer" class="footer"> (XHTML) markup element but before the close of the
<div class="site-container"> (HTML5) or
<div id="wrap"> (XHTML) markup element.
Genesis Simple Hooks
If you’re a Genesis Simple Hooks user, you can find
genesis_after_footer in the Footer Hooks section and enter your desired content into the box.
There is no content hooked to
genesis_after_footer by default.
